Casa Italiana di Las Vegas in collaboration with the West Charleston Library presents “Ciao Marcello!”, a wonderful black and white silent short film which is a tribute to Federico Fellini and his favorite actor, Marcello Mastroianni.
The film was shot with an hand-held 8mm camera, in the tradition of the first years of the Italian maestro. And just like Fellini, most of the scenes and the reactions were almost improvised and decided on the run. This short film (22 minutes) has a very romantic feeling and a warmth that brings us back to another era. It tells the story of a semi-retired Latin lover who, on his daily commute, falls asleep and dreams of all his past and present girlfriends in a burlesque scenario. The film was written and directed by Kevin McCarthy, produced by Diana Cong. Francesco Mazzini plays the lead role.
An introduction by actor Francesco Mazzini, will precede the movie followed by Q&A.
